as evidenced in an article in the Toronto Evening Telegram of Friday
while still serving in the 153rd Bomber Squadron
thus making it impossible to tell the wearer’s rank if the shoulder boards were covered
but was lost

SS Freiwilligen Panzergrenadier Division "Horst Wessel"). Constructed of zink, stamped with three suspension loops, bearing a double stamped inscription of 18. SS FR. W. PZ. GREN. H. W. PZ. JAG. ABT. 18, with an identification number of 128, measuring 71 mm (w) x 52 mm (h), with oxidation evident throughout, in overall very fine condition.
