Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, with a central depiction of a sea mine exploding, the reverse with a ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Adolf Schwerdt, Stuttgart, measuring 45. 06
