Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1941 1942, attached with all four reverse prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with an intact paper backer and field grey wool liner, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by Karl Wurster,
